can’t thank you all enough for your kind words on our last post and all of your entries on #showoffyourporchboo ! congrats to @veeness who is our winner!!! you can see her precious little girl with a scary friend in our stories! ☠️ and thanks to @stephsterjovski and all of the ladies who gave me rug envy in the hashtag. i now want to own 10,876 door mats and will likely have to change them out every single day of fall. 👻 #evercohalloween
if you haven’t followed us since the beginning you probably won’t know this, but we launched this business and this community just one year ago. and one year ago today, we were at our first photoshoot ever. the very first photos ever taken for this company. Blake and I had just finished a day of brainstorming at our local Starbucks and had the honor and privilege to take pictures of these beautiful kiddos (including our own) at @thewhitespace_nc. what i didn’t know was that while we were taking these pictures, something was happening in a small town in Kentucky at the exact same moment that would change my life forever. i didn’t know that my daddy had unexpectedly taken his last breath. i battled whether or not i would continue on with this company, until i realized i didn’t just want to continue on - i had to. for my sanity, for my strength, for my anxiety, for my peace. in order for me to keep moving forward, i had to have this space as an outlet. i needed to serve others to stay busy in a season of grief. but mostly, i just wanted to honor my dad. i wanted to create this community and this company to pay tribute to his life. a life full of everlasting love. and so what i thought would be the end to our business instead gave me fuel for a fire that was so strong i was determined to make it survive. and so here we are, exactly one year later. and guys ... we made it cause of you. all 18,100 of you. and i can’t begin to thank you enough for being with me during the highs, the lows and all the in between. we are beyond grateful for you. 🧡 #inmemoryofdaddyjim
